How I Built My First Social Campaign From Research to Strategy

A full cycle digital marketing project that highlights my skills in content strategy, audience analysis, and storytelling to create impactful marketing campaigns.

The Situation

For this project, I was tasked with selecting a local business and developing a strategic content plan based on their brand presence. The goal was to analyze their current social media and create a campaign that could scale their content from a local level to something more impactful and emotionally engaging. I chose Turiya’s Gift Store — a boutique offering crystals, candles, and intentional wellness gifts — because their brand had so much heart, and I saw the potential to elevate it through thoughtful content.

The Task

My instructors challenged us to approach this like a real-world consulting project: conduct a full content audit, identify areas of opportunity, and then build a multi-channel campaign around one of the proposed themes. I chose to focus on seasonal crystal education, a topic that aligned with the brand’s products and values. My job was to create sample posts, platform suggestions, and content ideas that reflected both brand voice and audience appeal.

The Action

I began with a brand audit, evaluating tone, visuals, and platform consistency. I pinpointed where storytelling could be stronger and where brand identity could shine more clearly. From there, I created a campaign centered on “Fall Energy & Grounding Crystals.” I developed content pillars, sample captions, visuals, and a posting schedule tailored for Instagram and TikTok. Every post was designed to educate, connect, and reflect the spirit of Turiya’s in a scroll-stopping way.

The Result

The end result was a complete, ready-to-implement campaign that captured the brand’s essence and provided structure for consistent, engaging content. It included visuals, voice direction, and platform-specific ideas to help Turiya’s deepen their connection with their audience. This project not only met the assignment goals — it helped me gain real clarity on how to build a content strategy with both beauty and purpose.

The Takeaway

This was one of the first projects that made me feel like a real strategist. Since then, I’ve built on this foundation with certifications, client work, and expanded knowledge in content, paid strategy, and analytics. But this is where it started — and I’m proud of how far I’ve come since turning this brief into something creative, strategic, and meaningful.
